Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Temptations lose their power when the LORD Jesus is nearby. His presence in me gives me peace and sanity, staying away from the raw desire of the flesh that overtakes humanity. You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptations. There will always be temptations to sin. Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak! As we submit to God in Christ temptations will pass and the peace of God that passes all understanding will settle within us. Our Spirit will be willing, and our flesh will be dead to sin because of the power of Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit overpowers our flesh, and our Spirit is alive and willing to be obey through harsh temptation and trial. Oh, be near me LORD Jesus. I need you every hour and every day for the continual victory over sin.
