Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man

A heart of flesh. Singing cheerful songs to a person with a heavy heart is like taking someone’s coat in cold weather or pouring vinegar in a wound. When a heart becomes cold and callous it becomes heavy and stony and dead to the Spirit of God. Sooner rather than later the heart begins to compromise, and morals get blurred. A cold heart has no moral compass and has no feeling of guilt or shame. The depravity of sin is real. Over time sin leads to death. Look at Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, when they disobeyed God, they felt naked and covered themselves. And then when God spoke to them, they instantly felt guilt and shame hiding from Him. They were told by God that if they ate from the fruit they would surely die and die they did physically but worse for the human race to come. Humanity would be born with a sinful human nature that would destroy the hearts of mankind. The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? The LORD alone knows and searches all hearts and examine secret motives. He gives all people their due rewards, according to what their actions deserve. Through the power of the Gospel, Jesus gives believers a new heart, and a new spirit in them. He takes out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. Yes, His Spirit, the Spirit of Christ in you to move you to follow His decrees and being careful to keep His laws, fulfilling the law of Christ. Amen. OH LORD, your word I have hid in my heart so that I may not sin against you! But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the LORD. “I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. Amen. A cold heart has lost its morals and sympathetic to sin's draw. But a heart of flesh is hot and alive! Awaken to what is right and what is wrong. A soft and tender in Christ feels everything again like a godly sorrow that leads to repentance. With a heart of flesh pumping with the lifeblood of Holy Spirit we start to learn and grow in what is right and holy. To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Oh how beautiful it is to see a stony heart turn into a heart of flesh! Able to discern whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, and anything that is excellent or praiseworthy.
