Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man.

We should learn skills. And we should learn them well. We should try to be experts at our work. When we work well, we honor God with our work. ‘In every kind of work, work hard! You are working for God. You are not really working for men. And you will receive God’s reward, because you are serving Christ. God called Adam and Eve to tend and care for the Garden of Eden. (Gen. 2:15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.) Adam was naming animals and learning from God how things operated. It's in us to be keepers and hard workers of this world. But sin has made humanity lazy and entitled. Though God sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous, he still expects man to cultivate the Earth and care for it. There is so much The LORD wants us to grow and learn in, if we would take the time learn new things. It's so easy to get stagnate and become a slave to our desires and neglect the joy of hard work. Reflect on this:

I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense. I saw that it was overgrown with nettles. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down. A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber. The joy of working hard for the LORD is that the Spirit of Christ fills you and makes you rich in life and meaning. More than just physical blessings which God does bless people with and comes with no sorrow. But to work hard and learn new skills reminds of Adam learning about the animals in the Garden. As we work for the Kingdom and share the Gospel we join in the fellowship of sufferings and the power of Christs resurrection. Learning and growing each new day in relationship with Jesus. Listen to the importance of hard work in this Scripture as I close: Even while we were with you, we gave you this command: “Those unwilling to work will not get to eat.” Yet we hear that some of you are living idle lives, refusing to work and meddling in other people’s business. We command such people and urge them in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work to earn their own living. As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good.
