Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man
The words of good people are a source of life, but evil hides behind the words of the wicked. As the old proverb says, ‘Wickedness comes from wicked people.’ From the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, all sexual immorality, theft, lying, and slander. All day long you plot destruction. Your tongue cuts like a sharp razor; you’re an expert at telling lies. May lying lips be silenced, lips that speak with arrogance against the righteous, full of pride and contempt. Mouth's that are full of cursing, deceit, and violence; trouble and malice are under his tongue. Loving evil more than good and lies more than truth. The tongue of the righteous is choice silver; the heart of the wicked is of little worth. The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit. Amen. Your tongue and heart are connected. A good person produces good things from the treasury of a good heart, and an evil person produces evil things from the treasury of an evil heart. What you say flows from what is in your heart. The mouths of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak what is just. They have made God’s law their own, so they will never slip from his path.
