Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Higher Elevation. So many people are use to living in shallow air. They are use to ground view living and trust in whatever their own eyes can see. Most spend there time in the valleys and small hills than seem like higher elevation. But to know there is a God and Maker of all we must seek higher elevation and altitude. My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts. There is an upward call that Jesus calls us to here down in this evil world. He says for us set our minds on things above and not on earthly things. So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. The things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. Yes, fixing our eyes on Jesus we press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God. For we died, and our lives are now hidden with Christ in God. You have not come to a physical mountain, to a place of flaming fire, darkness, gloom, and whirlwind, as the Israelites did at Mount Sinai. For they heard an awesome trumpet blast and a voice so terrible that they begged God to stop speaking. They staggered back under God’s command: “If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.” Moses himself was so frightened at the sight that he said, “I am terrified and trembling.” No, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to countless thousands of angels in a joyful gathering. Look with me to the top of Mt. Zion, I see such a great cloud of witnesses! Those who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness! Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Lets go higher and deeper into the presence of God like never before. Lets get our minds breathing the pure oxygen of Christ's mind and leave behind our lower worldly shallow thinking. We must learn and get use to living at a higher elevation above the ways of this world. This only through the power of Holy Spirit strengthening and renewing our spiritual lungs. Imagine a prayer life from high elevations where Jesus is! He is so close to you like Moses was close to God on Mt Sinai. May we come down with that same fire in our bones to share the Gospel of the High and Mighty Kingdom of Heaven. Oh LORD, your righteousness is like the highest mountains! Your loving devotion, reaches to the heavens, Your faithfulness to the clouds. And how beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!”
