Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses and the prophets long ago. We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. Amen. Our natural physical body is dead because of sin. There is nothing we can do in our own strength to save this body from certain death and decay. Jesus says, Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. His body was was broken for us so that we might have death after life. His blood was shed for us so that we could be raised incorruptible, the gift of eternal life. If Christ lives in you, you will never die! The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the LORD that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.
