Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
God himself has taught us how we should love each other. The LORD Jesus said, I give you a new command. Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. The perfect expression of God’s love for others is found in the person of Jesus. Jesus is our benchmark! Jesus does not require anything from us that He did not already live out in His own person and life. The command to love one another and to love our neighbor as ourselves were given and modeled by Jesus and now commanded of His followers. Jesus modeled even to the washing of the disciples feet saying, I have set you an example so that you should do as I have done for you. Amen. So let love be your guide. Christ loved us and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God. A life living in Christ is a life that loves and serves others. A service to the poor that listens, loves, encourages, respects and helps those in your midst, especially those from the bottom of the social class. This is the heart of Jesus and should be our heart as well as we seek to live in fellowship with Him. Those who do not yet believe in Christ will see how Christians live. They will see the love that Christians have for each other. They will see how we as Christians work and mind our own affairs. As we live in this awesome labor to love like this, we will earn the respect of many non-believers. Perhaps this will make people more ready to accept the good news about Jesus Christ. But if Christians do not love each other or are lazy, this will cause people to turn from the good news. They will know we are Christians by our love. Our love for God and Man birthed in us as we received the gift of salvation in Jesus. For God is love and the only we reason we know what true love is, is because of what Jesus did on the Cross. You need to be taught how to love by the Spirit of Christ. The love that you do have is nothing without the life of Christ love in you. If you had the gift of prophecy, and if you understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if you had such faith that you could move mountains, but didn’t love others, you would be nothing. Gods love is everything. May you be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes all knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fulness of God.
