Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
Don’t waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don’t throw your pearls to pigs! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you. God in Christ is wanting to pour out His Spirit on all humanity so that they would truly Know God. How can we neglect such a great salvation? For eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. Joel 2:28 says, and it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions. Amen. But now that we know God, or better still, God knows you. How can you turn back and become slaves of those weak and pitiful powers? We are called to draw near to God and He will draw near to us. The Spirit of Christ wants to come into hearts and lives to become one with Him. Jesus gives of Himself so freely as He lives to intercede for us. The more of He gives of Himself the more He is wanting us to pursue His presence and his love. How can we receive such a great gift of Holy Spirit and then grieve Him with pride and sin? Quenching the power of Holy Spirit by neglecting to pursue more of the presence of God daily. Like a woman who gives all of herself to her husband and then tenderly asks, do you love me? So is the heart of God in Jesus when He pours out Holy Spirit and fills us with his holy presence, then asking do you love me? Say to the LORD Jesus today: I love you LORD, and I love your sweet Holy Spirit living inside me. Please continue to create in me a clean heart. Renew a loyal spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Let me again experience the joy of your deliverance! Sustain me by giving me the desire to obey! I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands. Turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name. Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me. As I draw near to you Jesus the Holy Spirit is the pearl of great price. If I have you Jesus, I have everything I need.
