Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Lord, there are so many vices that I lay my head on and rest instead of resting in you. Things of immoral and sinful behavior that bring depravity to my life and spirit. When things go haywire I want so badly to eat of my own vomit. To lay in my own bed and wallow in it. The elixir of sorrow stirs up so much evil in the hearts of humanity. Bad habits become evil vices that pull us away from God, leaving us in danger of bad decisions and enslavement to sin. Jesus, I need you to be my resting place. The place I go when trouble consumes me and follows me. I give into my vices so easily instead of trusting you and Holy Spirit inside me. Little by little, faith by faith, I am detoxing myself from the evil thoughts and actions I use to do. We have had many victories in the past, and God is calling us to more. He loves us too much to leave us enslaved to our sins. I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Make it a good habit to rest in Christ.
