Oh To Be Wise Meditations

I couldn't breathe. I was gargling some water recently with hydrogen peroxide, and swallowed it by mistake. All of a sudden I couldn't breathe and was hyper ventilating. Choking on this water I felt so helpless, I called out to my wife for help scaring her in the process. I thought in that moment that this is it Lord, this is how my life is going to end? I regained some sense and clarity after the initial scare, and realized I could still breathe through my nose. And as my throat cleared and my breathing was restored to me, my eyes were opened to the frailty of humanity. It's been my experience that those who plow the soil of iniquity and those who sow the seed of trouble will reap their harvest! A breath from God destroys them. They vanish in a blast of his anger. When God speaks, the power of his words alone shake the universe to its core. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! Though it may look like we are about to die, God is about to breathe into us renewed life! Lord, I pray your Word would be breath to my lungs and life to my heart. That Holy Spirit would guide my spiritual breathing and keep me close to hear your words of life for me. We are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. How precious is our breath to us, it is a sign that we are alive. Be alive in Christ. May his breath be found in you for eternal life, and not for destruction and sorrow.
