Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Listen to me, you who have understanding. Everyone knows that God doesn’t sin! The Almighty can do no wrong. He rewards people for what they do and treats them as they deserve. It is unthinkable that God would do wrong, that the Almighty would pervert justice. The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all he does. His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. From the very beginning, God has been in control of all the world. If God took back the breath that he breathed into us, all life would cease, and humanity would turn again to dust. The mighty God is the one who brings about justice. Should one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn Him who is most just? Indeed, God is the one who condemns unfair rulers. He doesn’t care how great a person may be, and he pays no more attention to the rich than to the poor. He made them all. Even powerful rulers die in the darkness of night when they least expect it, just like the rest of us. Yes, In a moment they die. In the middle of the night they pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand. God's eyes are on a person's ways. He sees all his steps. No evil person can hide in the deepest darkness. And so, God doesn't need to set a time for judgment. He does not need an investigation to remove leaders and replace them with others. He knows what they do, and in the night he overturns and destroys them. In full view of the public, he strikes them for their wickedness, because they've abandoned their pursuit of him and had no respect for any of his ways. They cause the poor to cry out, catching God’s attention. He hears the cries of the needy. But if he remains silent, who can condemn him? If he hides his face, who can see him? Yet he is over individual and nation alike, to keep the godless from ruling, from laying snares for the people. “Why don’t people say to God, ‘I have sinned, but I will sin no more’? Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do so again.'? Have you asked God to show you your faults, and have you agreed to stop doing evil? Should God reward you on your own terms since you have rejected his? The LORD does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. Amen. Meditate Ps. 115:3
