Oh To Wise Meditations

The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit. Our spirit is weakened because of sin. Humanity is subject to sin and death and our will to live is found in our human spirit. Scripture says, a joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones. We need God to lift our spirits and transforms us from death to life. The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit? Jesus gave us the gift of Holy Spirit to testify to our hearts and minds that we are God's children. No longer orphans going to and fro on this earth

looking for meaning and purpose. We have the Spirit of adoption through the blood of Christ. And in Him we have been set apart as holy to the LORD our God, and he has chosen us from all the nations of the earth to be his own special treasure. If we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. The people in this world get married. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection. The Spirit Himself testifies to this with our spirit. What will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when Jesus appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.
