Proverbs of a 36 yr old man
The wicked are proud of their evil desires; the greedy curse and reject the LORD. Being greedy, indecent, or immoral is just another way of worshiping idols. You can be sure people who behave in this way will never be part of the kingdom that belongs to Christ and to God. If you try to obtain everything, you risk losing everything. Do not covet is for your own good. Out of your heart comes evil thoughts, vulgar deeds, stealing, murder, unfaithfulness in marriage, greed, meanness, deceit, indecency, envy, insults, pride, and foolishness. Covetousness is idolatry, and to covet something is to desire it more than you desire God. All these evil desires and more come from a heart without restrain. A heart that is unclean and unfit to worship God. I say it with tears in my eyes, that many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and their glory is in their shame. All they can think about are the things of this world. But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He has power over everything, and he will make these poor bodies of ours like his own glorious body. May we truly only righteously covet his presence in us.
