Zoom Battle Prayer Notes 12/6/2022
Tues Topic: Vengeance. What does it mean to allow God to take vengeance? What does this look like even today and not just eternity? Should we take revenge on our enemies?
Don’t say, “I will get even for this wrong.” Wait for the LORD to handle the matter.
Proverbs 20:22
There is a worldly way to justice and there is a Kingdom way.
Your evil motives should not rule your day.
Stay in neutral don’t lead with your wicked emotions
We are fighting against spiritual things. Do not retaliate but show love.
I will take revenge; I will pay them back. In due time their feet will slip. Their day of disaster will arrive, and their destiny will overtake them.
Deut. 32:35
God calls us to do hard things. To live in Grace and Peace and have mercy on each other.
Love our enemies. Actually pray for people that have wronged us.
Spirit of unforgiveness is hard to get out. It will prevent you from doing Gods word.
God did not call you to be Final Judge.
Christians are to be in submission to the rulers God has set over us because they are His instruments for “vengeance on evildoers” (1 Peter 2:13-14).
Give up the right to be offended.
Our greatest enemy is death and Jesus has already avenged us on the cross.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23 KJV)
Mercy from his wrath is by not giving us what we deserve.
“He hath not dealt with us after our sins; Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.”
Psalm 103:10 KJV
God has allowed things to happen so that God can retribution and justice.
Make peace with the door being shut. God will open another door.
We know there will be a great day of wrath. A great and terrible day of the LORD.
God is coming for his enemies.
God is a just God. He is holy and has to administer justice.
Love is the greatest act of mercy you can show your enemies.
It is a gift from the LORD to forgive. Consider it a strength.
Even in the crucifixion Jesus cried out mercy for his enemies.
Just think how much worse the punishment will be for those who have trampled on the Son of God, and have treated the blood of the covenant, which made us holy, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God’s mercy to us.
What is the behavior of the Christian, we are not to usurp God’s authority. Rather, we are to allow Him to judge rightly and pour out His divine retribution against His enemies as He sees fit.
Unlike us, God never takes vengeance from impure motives. His vengeance is for the purpose of punishing those who have offended and rejected Him. We can, however, pray for God to avenge Himself in perfection and holiness against His enemies and to avenge those who are oppressed by evil.
Thank you for another great day of Battle prayer. Fight on….
