Oh To Be Wise Meditations

It is so hard not to please the flesh. We live in a world that feeds into it and keeps people in bondage to deadly things. Things like alcohol, sex, and money in the excess can ruin your life. The flesh will never be satisfied because its really trying to please yourself. One of the hardest things in life to understand is not to always please yourself. To think of another and consider their needs first. I am still learning this but I think God wants us to please him more than we please ourselves. In pleasing him we are pleasing ourselves. Now that's sounds complicated, but the longer I live the more I realize I am never satisfied without Jesus. I have enjoyed to full content my personal desires and still have been left empty time and time again, What's crazy is that its fools gold and impossible to stop pleasing yourself without the Spirit of Christ working in your heart and mind. I have told you this many times before, and now I repeat it with tears: there are many whose lives make them enemies of Christ's death on the cross. They are going to end up in hell, because their god is their bodily desires. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of, and they think only of things that belong to this world. We, however, are citizens of heaven, and we eagerly wait for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, to come from heaven. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.
