The gifts of the Spirit are gifts from God to us. Think about it. God gifts us with his patience so that we can be patient with others. The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. Its Gods love that gives us access to the gifts of his Spirit. This is why when we have the chance to show mercy we give it not because we have to. But because it was freely given to us by God in Christ. The gift of helps God did to our finances you know help others in need. These are gifts from God to us that benefits us as we share in the blessings of Christ. Now, dear brothers and sisters, regarding your question about the special abilities the Spirit gives us. I don’t want you to misunderstand this. There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different ministries, but the same Lord. In his grace, God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out with as much faith as God has given you. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. So then, let us pursue what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
