Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Sometimes the truth hurts and leaves us in the dark more than ever. The LORD hasn't lost his powerful strength; he can still hear and answer prayers. But your wrongs have separated you from your God, and your sins have made him hide his face so that he doesn't hear you. We have rebelled and refused to follow you. Our hearts were deceitful, and so we lied; we planned to abuse others and turn our backs on you. Injustice is everywhere; justice seems far away. Truth is chased out of court; honesty is shoved aside. Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked. The LORD looked and was displeased to find there was no justice. He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed. So he himself stepped in to save them with his strong arm, and his justice sustained him. He put on righteousness as his body armor and placed the helmet of salvation on his head. He clothed himself with a robe of vengeance and wrapped himself in a cloak of divine passion. Truth Himself has set us free. If we know Him we are truly set free from the lies of this world and the enemy. We must speak out Gods word, even when the truth hurts and leaves us in limbo. Say LORD, never take your word of truth from my mouth, for I have put my hope in your laws. I will keep on obeying your instructions forever and ever. I will walk in freedom, for I have devoted myself to your commandments. Evil people won't obey you, and so they have no hope of being saved. I am yours. Save me, because I have searched for your guiding principles.
