Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Accuse God? The devil has been doing this since his rebellion in heaven. Even after the Cross, his threats and accusations have gotten worse having already sealed his fate. He banks on this idea: "Has God not put a hedge around people and their household and everything they have? Has God not blessed the work of there hands. Do people fear God for nothing? Would people worship you if they got nothing out of it? What is special about Jesus is that He did not come to condemn the world but to save it. Unlike the devil, He was in earth to save humanity and give glory to the Father.
Then I heard a loud voice shouting across the heavens, “It has come at last— salvation and power and the Kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down to earth— the one who accuses them before our God day and night. God uses the example of a huge crocodile to help Job understand him. No one messes with a crocodile in the wild, and definitely not in the water in hand to hand combat. It should be feared and respected being left alone. The same is with God Himself, who can attack him and still be safe? No one in all the world can do it. He is in command of the world and in debt to no one. The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof, the world and all who dwell therein. To accuse God is dangerous and like attacking a huge crocodile. Lord, like the crocodile I am awe of you and respect your beautiful creation. Who cannot keep silent about Leviathan’s limbs and its enormous strength and graceful form. Who could strip off its armor or bring it under control with a harness? Who dares open the doors of its mouth, ringed about with fearsome teeth? Yes, how great is our God and how majestic is his ways. He is worthy of our praise and adoration. Jesus has removed our reproach, and we do not have to live in anger and pride. Our accusers have dropped their stones and Jesus says go and sin no more. The Justice of God In Christ has crushed the great accuser of humanity. Righteous judgment is coming. Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”
