Oh To Be Wise Meditations
God has rescued us from the power of darkness and has brought us into the kingdom of his Son, whom he loves. His Son paid the price to free us, which means that our sins are forgiven. Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see, such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him. Amen. Oh Jesus thank you for rescuing me from the kingdom of darkness and into the Kingdom of Light. I belong to the light and live in the day. I don't live in the night or belong to the dark.
So then, I must not be like others, who are asleep, but be awake and sober at all times. All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else. But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in our trespasses. It is by grace you have been saved!
