Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
The ark of the covenant was the place of presence. God is not bound by space, but He bound Himself to this box. He is above all creational constraints, but He bound Himself to Israel. He is everywhere, but He was there.
While the Lord was present among His people in the exodus. He localized this presence in the tabernacle for the benefit of His sinful people. The tabernacle was constructed so that the Lord would be among His people: “And let them make me a sanctuary, that I may dwell in their midst” Ex.25:8. The ark served as the place of the presence of God. This wonderful hope of the Gospel gives us such confidence that we can be very bold in. We are not like Moses, who put a veil over his face so the people of Israel would not see the glory, even though it was destined to fade away. But the people’s minds were hardened, and to this day whenever the old covenant is being read, the same veil covers their minds so they cannot understand the truth. And this veil can be removed only by believing in Christ. Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Come lets look inside this ark of the new covenant. Our hearts are the stone tablets that Jesus has made flesh through the Cross. His holy law could not be etched on our stony hearts. So Christ came and removed the curse of the law over our hearts. Yes, over time our hearts would become pillars of salt judger by God's holy word. Jesus became the Living Word, the Word made flesh so that he can transform our hearts from stone to flesh. In Christ we can be redeemed from the curse of the law that is in this world. God did not want dwell in a high temple somewhere. His presence first came as an ark built by human hands. But the Spirit could not strive with man. The LORD could not be contained in an ark. So in the Power of the Gospel, Gods presence came as a baby born not by the will of a human father but by the will of God.. A temple built by Gods hands himself, a body yes the LORD has prepared for me. And through this body the person of Christ, God tore the veil that that kept us away from His inner personal presence. A victory over sin in our lives that comes from personal relationship with Jesus. He died and rose again, and is High Priest in the courts and temple of heaven. Jesus is interceding to the uttermost in peoples hearts. Looking to show himself strong in the weak. What God could not do through through the law He accomplished through his grace and mercy. We are his ark of covenant. A holy faith built without human hands. Born again by the Living Word Himself. Indwelt with life giving Holy Spirit. We have the literal presence of God in us. He is making all things new. Transforming our stony heart cursed by sin and death. Into a new heart of flesh being renewed by real spirit and life. You show that you are a letter from Christ by our changed hearts and lives, being known and being read by all men. Written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.
