Proverbs of a 38 yr old man

I am a mighty warrior. I am a mighty warrior for Christ. I don’t say it much because I rarely believed it. Why? Because I never believe it in myself. But now I do, I know what it means. Day by day as I see the love of Christ growing in a body of believers. I see fighters and victors that never give up no matter what. And it makes me so proud to be a foolish orphan to this world but a child of faith to the King. When I look at such a great cloud of witnesses, those who have suffered for the faith it inspires me. By faith these people overthrew kingdoms, ruled with justice, and received what God had promised them. They shut the mouths of lions, quenched the flames of fire, and escaped death by the edge of the sword. Their weakness was turned to strength. They became strong in battle and put whole armies to flight. Women received their loved ones back again from death. But others were tortured, refusing to turn from God in order to be set free. They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. Some died by stoning, some were sawed in half, and others were killed with the sword. Some went about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated. They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect. So let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. Fate no one has escaped neither the brave nor the coward. Real pain is in this world with sorrow unto death. Ours is a temporary pain for we know the eternal value of suffering. No man or demon will hurl me down to death against my fate. Our renewed purpose was born in us the day we were born again in the holy fire of Christ! The battle of life belongs to the LORD. I am his mighty warrior.
