Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
To the righteous the finish line is not the trophy and the crown. They run past the praise and the accolades and run to there Savior Jesus. The one who ran along side them on the road of life. Giving them living water when they were thirsty. And when they were hungry He gave them food for energy and vitality of the Spirit. When they felt like giving up in the race of life, seeing others go ahead of them in promotion and favor. He held them up and keep them from falling to the pavement in despair. There are also many that Jesus has carried across the finish line like the lame, the blind, the deaf, and the weak. They had no one to guide them to the path everlasting. Lost in sin and blinded by the dark roads of this world. No one to show them where champions are crowned. God In Christ has called every runner to the finish line. He is the Champion of Heaven and he calls us to persevere and receive the crown of life and honor. Keep running in this life of faith. That is the only way to please God, its by faith. It is a gift born from his grace and mercy on the Cross. Like a baton is the gift of his resurrection in us. Jesus calls out to you and me wherever we are on this road of life saying Come and follow me. I Am Risen. I know the way the truth and the life. I am the Narrow and Straight way. Come after me and you will never hunger and thirst again. I will bring you across the finish line and into my marvelous Light! Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.
