Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

President Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863, as the nation approached its third year of bloody civil war. The proclamation declared "that all persons held as slaves" within the rebellious states "are, and henceforward shall be free." Your freedom was yours for the taking and no one could take it from you. In the same way on the Cross Jesus declared us free from the bondage of sin and death.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. Just to know this truth will set you free. Because you will stand firm and not let yourself be burdened again by a yoke of slavery to sin. The devil does not want to see us set free from the hell he unleashed in this earth. He wants us perish with him in the fruit of his own devices, a fire prepared for the devil and his angels. When slaves heard of the Union Army coming to free slaves they ran for their freedom. Many of them died trying to get away from the slave owners. Also many actually made it to the Union Army and became soldiers to fight against the great wickedness in the South they just come out from. Amazing brave souls fighting for freedom and life. In the same way God rescued us from the kingdom of darkness and transferred us into the Kingdom of his dear Son, who purchased our freedom and forgave our sins. In bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the pioneer of their salvation perfect through what he suffered. Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters. Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. The Head of the Snake has been lifted up in Victory. Jesus is Risen and calls out to those in the pits of hell to come up out of there sins and follow Him. To fight the good fight of faith and live free from condemnation and guilt. The Enemy is condemned to hell and he is holding you back into this world with its pleasures and desires. Fight for your freedom that the blood of Christ has paid for. Even in an evil and wicked generation Jesus wants us to live for him. For he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
