Money cannot satisfy people. Whoever loves money will never have enough of it. And whoever loves wealth will never gain enough. This is very hard to understand. Your possessions may increase. But then the number of people who depend on you will increase as well. So the owner of the possessions gets nothing extra. They can only look at their wealth. People who have a lot of money often want more money. A man who earns a lot of money wants to earn even more money. Some people play games to gain more money. But what they gain does not satisfy them. There are also people who work just as hard that may not have much to eat. Yes, look at the poor man, he sleeps well at night after his hard work. Whether he has had enough to eat or not, he is free from anxious thoughts. A rich person has many possessions. But he cannot sleep during the night. Think about this: Better to be rich in the things that you need that to be poor in the things that you want. Its a ball and chain to have to serve your flesh daily in debts. But if you live within your means trusting in the LORD. What you need you will always have in abundance. Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
