Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
The LORD says in Scripture to remember that you must not make any idols of silver or gold to rival me. He spoke to Israel saying: You must build an altar for me made out of dirt. Sacrifice your burnt offerings and your fellowship offerings, your sheep, goats, and cattle on it. Wherever I choose to have my name remembered, I will come to you and bless you. And if you use stones to build my altar, use only natural, uncut stones. Do not shape the stones with a tool, for that would make the altar unfit for holy use. Amen. You are the temple of the LORD oh Christian made of dirt and earth and the very breath of God! Be a living sacrifice today for his name to be honored through your life lived for Christ. Oh LORD Jesus come pour out Holy Spirit and take our stony hearts and turn them into hearts of flesh for your holy use. Forgive us, for we have taken our stony hearts and tried to fashion it in pride and sin to look like the world. When what you wanted was our stony hearts as they are pure and uncut, so that you could burn your holy fire in us into your image and not our own fleshly desires. For who may climb the mountain of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? Only those whose hands and hearts are pure, who do not worship idols and never tell lies. I come to the mountain of the Cross my LORD and my God. Take my uncut stony heart, my dirt body of a temple and fill me with your holy presence. Keep me from worshiping idols and make me in your image, the image of Christ. We were meant to be altars for the LORD to burn his presence and not idols that steal away from his glory and power.
