Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
By this time you ought to be teachers. Many have been believers so long now that they ought to be teaching others. but are not able to. They still need someone to teach them again the basic truths of God’s word. Like babies still needing milk instead of solid food. Christians who still live on milk have not understood the teaching about right living. They are like babies. Solid food is for those who have grown up. They have learned to tell the difference between good and bad. My friends, stop thinking like children. Think like mature people and be as innocent as tiny babies. So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don’t need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God. Teaching is a necessary and valuable part of life. While there are people in the Body of Christ that actually have the gift of teaching, all of us are called to by an example and imitator of Christ. To disciple others and raise up the next generation in the discipline and admonition of the Lord. The harvest is plenty, but are there any laborers ready to go out to encourage more laborers? Jesus has commissioned us to make disciples to the ends of the earth. To help one another break the old habits of our old self and grow in new godly habits that match our new identity as children of God. Remember this: Students are not greater than their teacher. But the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher. Are you becoming more and more like Jesus our Great Teacher, being transformed and renewed in his presence daily by Holy Spirit? We must announce the message about Christ, and we must use all our wisdom to warn and teach everyone, so all of Christ's followers will grow and become mature.
