Proverbs of a 40 yr. old man

The Word of God is like series. The Word of God is like physical food. Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Like newborn babies, we are to crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it we may grow up in our salvation. Food is vital for sustaining life. Without proper nourishment, the human body becomes weak and cannot function properly. People must take care of their bodies through eating right and consuming key nutrients, so they not only live but thrive in healthiness. The same principle applies to one’s spiritual life. A proper diet of spiritual food is needed so Christians do not become weak and weary, but rather thrive spiritually in their relationship with God. Regular nourishment for the soul is vital for the Christian life, just as physical food is for the body. So, to say we need spiritual food is to say we need the Word of God, we need to do the will of God, and we need Jesus Himself. For He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Jesus is the Living Word. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Amen. The living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, they will live forever; and the bread also which He gives for the life of the world is his flesh. For anyone who eats His flesh and drinks His blood has eternal life, and He will raise that person at the last day. For His flesh is real food, and His blood is real drink. Amen. Wisdom says come, eat my food, and drink the wine I have mixed. When we bless the cup at the Lord’s Table, aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? And when we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ? And though we are many, we all eat from one loaf of bread, showing that we are one body.
