Proverbs of a 40 yr old man

Learn to sacrifice. Suffer to be obedient. Jesus did and so should we. Even though Jesus was God’s Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered. In this way, God qualified him as a perfect High Priest, and he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him. Amen. The Spirit of Christ lives in us and Jesus is interceding for us constantly to be a living sacrifice. He died for all so that those who live would not continue to live for themselves. He died for them and was raised from death so that they would live for him. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace. Amen. To be obedient you must make sacrifices and grow in the discipline of Holy Spirit. We must live as God’s obedient children. Not slipping back into our old ways of living to satisfy our own desires. We didn’t know any better then. But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy. This is much personal sacrifice and abounding grace that God in Christ provides. Let me close with these words of Jesus: Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. But many who are the greatest now will be least important then, and those who seem least important now will be the greatest then.
