Proverbs of a 41 yr old man

Before prayer becomes a delight it must become a discipline. It would be better to pray five minutes a day than once a month for an hour. The LORD is in control of all things, nothing can happen unless he allows it, and in his infinite love and wisdom, he causes all things to work together for our good. Amen. So then, we pray that this would be engraved on our hearts. Prayer in Holy Spirit is engraving the Word and Law of Christ on our hearts! Prayer is a submission of our hearts to God so that He can write His Word on our hearts. Look how the Living Scriptures transforms us and renews us. It's because the Spirit of Christ lives in us! And as we discipline ourselves to prayer we start to agree with Jesus in prayer. He is our Amen and from faith to faith we are being made in his image. Prayer will become a delight as we become more like Christ. We start to give thanks with a grateful heart even in suffering. Prayer and thanksgiving is allowing Holy Spirit to etch on our hearts. Prayer becomes a time of fellowship with God where the Spirit of Christ brings things to remembrance. People to pray for, Scripture you read, and things you need to personally confess. The discipline of prayer is also for the armor of God in training. As we grow and mature in our faith we learn to fight in spiritual warfare. We don't fight against flesh and blood but spiritual principalities. We are honed in prayer and in the secret place to be special chosen instruments in Gods hands.

I want to close with these words: Go pray and labor to pray. Hear Jesus say to you like he told his disciples at Gethsemane: can you pray even an hour? The LORD challenges us to pray. To pray when you don't feel like it. And if you fall asleep, repent. Pray again this time with fervency. Pray with fasting and start to empty yourself of yourself. Submit to God in humility and Jesus will lift us up in due time. For we are seated with Christ. But it takes us learning to be on our knees in prayer to actually see the view of being seated next to Christ.
