Proverbs of a 41 yr. old man

Oh LORD, do not rebuke me in your anger or discipline me in your wrath. Have mercy on me, LORD, for I am faint; heal me, LORD, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, LORD, how long? Turn, LORD, and deliver me; save me because of your unfailing love. You rebuke the arrogant; those who wander from your commands are cursed. You placed the world on its foundation so it would never be moved. You covered it with the watery depths as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. You are glorious and more majestic than the everlasting mountains. Our boldest enemies have been plundered. They lie before us in the sleep of death. No warrior could lift a hand against us. At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still. It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry? From heaven you sentenced your enemies; the earth trembled and stood silent before you. You stand up to judge those who do evil, O God, and to rescue the oppressed of the earth. My heart is not proud, LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. I hear you say to me Jesus, “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.” Amen. The loudest and greatest rebuke from God is heard in the whispers of the heart. The king’s heart is like a stream of water directed by the LORD; he guides it wherever he pleases. The LORD said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the LORD was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” Amen. Rise up, O God; defend Your cause! Remember how the fool mocks You all day long. Arise, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are Your inheritance. You judge the world with justice; you govern the people with equity.
