Proverbs of a 42 yr old man

Work through the past. Don't dwell on the present. And Hope in the future.  In 2 Corinthians 5:17, God says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” We are called to be a new creation in Christ. Learning to put the past behind us by working through it. Coming to terms with our past becoming more able to touch those tender things of the past and become stronger every day. We tend to get stuck in the present not seeing things happen the way we expect. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! The present can change or stay stagnate. Don't dwell on the present. We don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. That is called hope in the future. Jeremiah 29:11 NIV “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Amen. Hope does not disappoint. Endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. We need our God of hope to fill us with all joy and peace as we trust in him, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Amen. May your unfailing love be with us, LORD, even as we put our hope in you. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Yes, be faithful to prayer working through the past. Be patient in affliction in your present circumstances. And be joyful in the future God has for us. No eye has seen and no ear has heard what has been prepared for us through Christ Jesus our LORD.
