Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Lord, I want to live again. It is wonderful life you have given me and I have squandered it in selfishness. I want to live for Christ and pursue his desires for me. Gone are the days of selfish ambition and pride, the days of dead works and idle hands. I was dead in sin for so many years that I have forgotten the sweet life found in the power of the Gospel. When a person dies, will he come back to life? Can the dead live again? As water evaporates from a lake and a river disappears in drought, people are laid to rest and do not rise again. Until the heavens are no more, they will not wake up nor be roused from their sleep. Those who are physically dead have no hope for life apart from Christ. But if you are spiritual dead, living in disobedience and in the guilt of many sins. Jesus can bring you back to life, back to the reality of his wondrous love! It is by God's grace that you have been saved. God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus. He did this so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? You still have the choice to live again. To love again those who you hurt and those who hurt you. To care for the things of God and pursue relationship with Christ. Lord, I want to live again but only because you lived and died for me. Let me follow in your footsteps and have eternal life now. For I once was dead in sin but now I am alive in righteousness.
