Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Do not be quick to turn away from what the Lord has commanded. Be thankful that God's covenant love and faithfulness keeps us from despair. The Lord God has told us what is right and what he demands: "See that justice is done, let mercy be your first concern, and humbly obey your God." With Christ in us we can live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. No blessing is wasted because we are walking in obedience through the power of God's love in us. Yet being obedient takes discipline, and we are called to be Christ's disciples. Jesus says, “If you want to be my disciple, you must, by comparison, hate everyone else—your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry his cross and come after Me is not able to be My disciple. We must take the time to know the Lord, it is how we grow in the Spirit. God wants us to be in his presence so we can be holy. Spending time in relationship with God allows Him to do righteousness and justice through your life. We need to stop doing and just be. Jesus can do so much with a still soul submitted to grace than with someone with much sacrifice but no discipline. We are called to be disciples and to this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. Meditate 1 John 2:6
