Oh To Be Wise Meditations

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. He who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy. LORD, who can discern his own errors? Cleanse me from my hidden faults. Don't let me do wrong on purpose or let sin have control over my life. Then I will be innocent, and not guilty of some terrible fault. Let my words and my thoughts be pleasing to you, LORD, because you are my mighty rock and my protector. This is how I can maintain your cleansing, by Holy Spirit constantly flowing in me. Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins. Our bodies are the temple of God and the blood of Christ has been shed for cleansing. What can wash away my sins, nothing but the blood of Jesus. Because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do, we are all purified from sin by the offering that he made of his own body once and for all. He purifies people from their sins, and both he and those who are made pure all have the same Father. That is why Jesus is not ashamed to call them his family.
