Oh To Be Wise Meditations
By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God. Yes, Enoch had faith and did not die. He pleased God, and God took him up to heaven. This is why his body was never found. On this Labor Day weekend, as we rest from all our labors, let us never rest from seeking the LORD. There will be a day where we will be found no more because God took us into his glory and presence!
This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “Only in returning to me and resting in me will you be saved. In quietness and confidence is your strength. Return to your rest, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you. Cain made love to his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch. Cain was then building a city, and he named it after his son Enoch. Jesus said, If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. But just as it is written,“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, And which have not entered the heart of man,All that God has prepared for those who love Him.”
