Oh To Be Wise Meditations

And there was war in heaven. Yes, now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death. Earth became a war zone where good and evil would continue its battle. Jesus was lifted up on the Cross in victory confirming it through the rises from the dead. He holds the head of the snake in victory even in this spiritual war torn world. It’s ok to battle and even not love your life unto death for the LORD. He Is Risen! Therefore all soldiers of the Cross will rise again. We are not casualties of spiritual war but pillars to the LORD our God. Satan and his angels fell from heaven. Jesus saw him fall like lightning to Earth for judgment. Now Satan could not go to God in heaven. From the start, he had been there day and night. All the time he accused God’s people of sin. But now the Lord threw him out of heaven. The defeat of Satan was not merely the work of angels. Jesus died and he rose again from death. This is how Jesus defeated Satan. Those who believed in Jesus Christ overcame Satan. The blood of the Lamb had removed all their sins. So, Satan had no reason to continue to accuse them. They spoke the truth about God and Satan had no answer to it. They were willing to die if necessary and they were not afraid of death.

Those who believe in Jesus Christ share in his success. What Jesus achieved, he did for God’s people. This is the defeat of Satan. God had a plan in Christ to rescue his people. God will use his power and his kingdom will come. Jesus Christ will soon rule the earth. He will rule on this earth for a thousand years and forevermore. Hear this: There is war in your hearts! There is a battle for your soul!
