Oh To Be Wise Meditations
The Adopted Spirit. Nothing is yours, even the air you breath is borrowed. We hold on to things so tightly in this world and live our lives in fear of losing everything. On this Valentines Day be reminded of the love freely poured out through the Cross of Christ. Salvation is offered to all who believe and trust in Jesus through this life and times. We have this flesh, a spirit that wars against God and his authority. We need to the gift of Holy Spirit to be able to be free from sin and death. To take upon ourselves on his Divine Nature and leave our sinful nature behind. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” We are called to live in sonship and leave the selfish spirit of the flesh behind. This is hard to do and easy to say because the blessings of the LORD make rich even in this world. But little by little and we take this adopted spirit and are grafted into Christ. We have our new nature to live from all the days of our lives and into eternity. Meditate on this: Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.
