Oh To Be Wise Meditations
Young man. You need a father to teach you to be kind, work hard, and take pride. And that in the only way a father can. A mother does this in her own way, but a young child needs to be fathered. It doesn’t matter if it’s blood or in Spirit. Children need the discipline of a Father. Flesh gives birth to flesh. Spirit gives birth to Spirit. Our Heavenly Father is bringing many sons home to him through spiritual fathers. Oh Jesus, you will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers. Listen, my son, and be wise, and set your heart on the right path. Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder. Write them deep within your heart. Now, my sons, listen to me, and attend to the words of my mouth. The words of an immoral woman may be as sweet as honey and as smooth as olive oil. But all that you really get from being with her is bitter poison and pain. If you follow her, she will lead you down to the world of the dead. Also, do not carouse with drunkards or feast with gluttons, for they are on their way to poverty, and too much sleep clothes them in rags. A man who loves wisdom brings joy to his father, but a companion of prostitutes squanders his wealth. Invest in truth and wisdom, discipline and good sense, and don't part with them. Pay attention to your father, and don't neglect your mother when she grows old. You will make your Heavenly Father truly happy by living right and showing sound judgment.
