Oh To Be Wise Meditations

Babies need a lot of attention and care. They are helpless and require a lot of nurturing to survive. Milk starts to build up their body and appetite. Getting stronger and stronger as they are able to eat more solid food. But milk is so important to growth and survival. Meditate on this, you’re never to old for milk. Reading different articles about milk and if it’s even beneficial for you as an adult. I can see both sides of this argument, but I love thinking about milk like Scripture talks about daily bread. Let me explain. Daily bread is essential to physical life and is involved usually in everything that we eat. Jesus is our daily bread in that way, we need Him desperately to satisfy our hunger for life. Stay with me here though because milk starts like that for us at point of birth but then we need to move on to solid food as we grow. Does that mean we don’t need milk at all ever? Milk can still do the body good as long as we are not depending on it for total nourishment. We need solid food and can’t live on milk alone. So, never forget you were a babe in Christ. You drank pure spiritual milk needing to be nurtured and cared for. As you matured in your faith in God you were able to eat more of the solid word of God. But praise God you never lose that taste for the milk! It's that born again spiritual experience, always realizing you need the LORD to survive and thrive. Even as you grow and mature beyond your years as a man or woman of God. You will always be a child of God. To our Heavenly Father we are always his babes in Christ. He loves to hear his grown and mature children say Abba, Papa, help me.
