Oh To Be Wise Meditations
We are called to be ministers of the Gospel. We rely on our church systems and programs so much. But personal ministry and devotion is so important to the Body of Christ. Listen to Paul talking with the Philippians: Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. Amen. There is a call to live out our faith outside the church walls but still being apart of our Church body. God in Christ has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit gives life. But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. Some people may never walk into a church and hear the Gospel. You go be a minister of the Gospel and share the faith others. Go make disciples by being a good example of it. Paul says imitate me as I imitate Jesus.
