Proverbs of 39 yr old man
The LORD wants to have a good grip on you. He wants the grooves of his fingers settled in within you. And He wants to strengthen you and help you, while holding you up with his victorious right hand! You were made in his image. Yes, God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; both male and female he created them. But because of sin and rust, death and decay, human beings have abandoned there identity and purpose. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. As a result, their minds became dark and confused. Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools. And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. Think about this: Like an ancient artifact being dug up and dusted off for examination so is God in Christ pouring out the Holy Spirit in our hearts trying to restore the Image of God in us. And not only restore but refined with the seal of the Spirit of Christ in our hearts. Sealed unto the day of redemption. It is God who enables us to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us. So let us daily be gripped and molded in relationship with Jesus. He is the Potter and we are his treasure in jars of clay. A special utensil for honorable use. A life being made clean and ready for the Master to use for every good work. Oh Jesus we want a stronger grip of you in us with a faith strongly gripped by your presence. For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.
