Proverbs of a 37 yr old man
Look what happens to those who do not trust in God. They trust their wealth instead and grow more and more bold in their wickedness. They succeed in everything and do not see the punishment awaiting them. They sneer at all their enemies. Look how wicked they are! They never have a worry. They grow more and more wealthy. Yes, the wealth of the rich is their fortress but the poverty of the poor is their destruction. The righteous will live by faith, and its worth is more than fine gold and silver. There mighty fortress is there God and He is not ashamed to be called their God. They look forward to a city that God has prepared for them through the riches of his grace. The wicked do not see their poverty of sin and debt that leads to destruction. God’s purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord. Because of Christ and our faith in him, we can now come boldly and confidently into God’s presence. But rebels and sinners will together be shattered, and those who forsake the LORD will perish. They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power. This will happen on the day when the Lord returns to be praised and honored by all who have faith in him and belong to him. This includes you, because you believed the Gospel. We are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.
