Proverbs of a 38 yr old man
Dark City. The people of Dark City have seen a great light, and for those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned. Some sat in darkness and deepest gloom, imprisoned in iron chains of misery. For the enemy of the Light has pursued many souls, crushing their life to the ground, making them dwell in darkness like those long since dead. But like a City on a hill is the Light of Heaven to Dark City. Everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that is illuminated becomes a light itself. It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret darkness. As the Light shines over Dark City, it brings every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. Praise God, the night is nearly over; the day is almost here. Put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. You used to be like people living in the dark, but now you are people of the light because you belong to the Lord. So act like people of the light, for this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. Suppose you said, "I'll hide in the dark until night comes to cover me over." There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide. But blessed are those who fear the Light, who find great delight in the commanding rays on them. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Look, I see a Light shining in the darkness for the godly! They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining brighter and brighter until midday. If you obey and do right, a Light will show you the way and fill you with true happiness.
