Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
The LORD advises those who fear him. He reveals to them the intent of his promise. He will let them know His covenant and reveal to them through His word its deep and inner meaning. For the LORD detests the perverse but takes the upright into his confidence. Yes, His secret counsel is with the upright in heart! Listen to Job speaking of his relationship with God. Job 29:2-6 How I long for the months gone by, for the days when God watched over me, when his lamp shone on my head and by his light I walked through darkness! Oh, for the days when I was in my prime, when God’s intimate friendship blessed my house, when the Almighty was still with me and my children were around me, when my path was drenched with cream and the rock poured out for me streams of olive oil. Oh how wonderful the secret place and console we have with the LORD. Even in our suffering like Job's, that sweet fellowship with Holy Spirit is everything we need for life and godliness. We are ministers of a new covenant with better promises. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. Listen, now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
