Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

You have to train hard. To accomplish great and difficult things you must train hard. Everyday you have to do the same thing consistently and constantly. Be meticulous and care about what you are trying to accomplish. True success comes from much failure and perseverance. It is the same for your spiritual disciplines, these are things that need to be practiced daily. Disciplining and training yourself for the purpose of godliness. Training the body helps a little, but godly living helps in every way. Godly living has the promise of life now and in the world to come. Scripture says for us to be praying at all times. That a bar set for a standard to be maintained. Like most things in our lives we are not magically going to be good at. You develop routine and training in hopes to be better at something. You will take even a little increase in physical stamina because you will feel it in your body. How much more our spiritual disciplines like Bible reading where you read a word and you get a word that is just for you. It may not preach and make you famous. But you know in your heart it was the LORD speaking to you. As we grow in the Spirit and we allow God in Christ to bear spiritual fruit in us. He fills us with the gifts of the Spirit so we can edify one another in the church. Jesus will use us even in this dark world to be a light for his glory. God our Savior showed us how good and kind he is. He saved us because of his mercy, and not because of any good things we have done. God washed us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He gave us new birth and a fresh beginning. God sent Jesus Christ our Savior to give us his Spirit. Jesus treated us much better than we deserve. He made us acceptable to God and gave us the hope of eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying, be assured in these things, that they who have believed in God would be concerned to cultivate good works, for these things are good and profitable for everyone. Jesus gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. Jesus has put in the hard work of salvation, lets allow the power of Holy Spirit to renew and transform us. Lets give our will to God and train harder, Holy Spirit is ready to make us the sons of God our Father has called us from before the beginning of the world. For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.
