Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
The LORD is a jealous God. He wants all of you and not some of you. The Holy Spirit is so jealous for us that we become consumed with Gods presence. Before our hearts were very divided and we gave away our time and talents to whatever made us feel good. But now the Spirit of Christ has made us jealous for righteousness. Where we long to be with God and in fellowship with others. Using our time, gifts and talents for the glory of God. Yes, now you want to spend time with God more than anything else because of the jealous love Jesus has for us. To the point where our minds become one with Christ. We start to want the desires of his heart over ours. What tempted us in the flesh before has lost its pull and grip because of the jealous love of Christ stealing us away from our many lovers and desires. A single day in his courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! You would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of God than to live the good life in the homes of the wicked. Pray today: One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple. Look! The world is fading away along with its desires. But the love and passion of Jesus is consuming in every way your heart and life. Not only is the LORD jealous for you but now you are jealous for Him. In his continual presence you found everlasting life and pleasures forevermore. With godly jealousy God is the recipient of our desire. We are jealous for the will of God in a situation. We are jealous for Him to be glorified. Godly jealousy wakes us up at night to intercede for a lost loved one. Godly jealousy motivates us to confront a sinning brother or sister when we don’t want to, in order to save them from the enemy. Godly jealousy created difficulties and sorrows for Paul because he refused to stop speaking the truth, even when his hearers did not want to listen. Godly jealousy is love in action.
