Proverbs of a 39 yr old man

Lick your wounds. Animals know that when they get hurt, their wound needs to be soothed because it is painful. Humans, dogs, as well as other species, will desire to quickly attend to their wounds. It is an instinct. When your dog licks a wound, there are healing capacities in their saliva and it can also help cleanse the area.

Dogs like to lick sores to promote healing. I think of the rich man and Lazarus story that Jesus told. How the rich man so blessed and lived in luxury every day. While a beggar named Lazarus laid at his gate covered in sores longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Scripture says even the dogs came and licked his sores. I find that amazing that the dogs sympathized with Lazarus enough that they licked his wounds, maybe even brought him some of scraps dropped from the table for them. I see the heart of God in his creatures. “This is what the LORD says: “’Your wound is incurable, your injury beyond healing. There is no one to plead your cause, no remedy for your sore, no healing for you. All your lovers, your allies, have left you and do not care about you anymore. From the sole of your foot to the top of your head, there is no soundness, only wounds and welts and festering sores neither cleansed nor bandaged nor soothed with oil. Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has not the spiritual health of Gods people been restored? The LORD Jesus heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds. For though he wounds, he also bandages. He strikes, but his hands also heal. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. Receive today in abundance the anointing oil of Holy Spirit that was pressed and crushed for us on the Cross.
