Proverbs of a 39 yr old man
Sin spreads. Sin spreads like cancer in your body. Traces of cancer can be found as small as on your big toe. If not treated in time your immune system will lose the fight and leave that area exposed to more rot and more disease. An open wound that never heals and begins to spread to other parts of the body. A doctor would recommend if the toe is gangrene and rotted to actually cut it off. And that in hopes that the cancer does not spread and actually heals on its own. Interestingly enough if it does not heal then you have a deeper issue than just the big toe. More tests are needed, more trials, and more radiation needs to be done. Why? Because it is better to lose a toe than to lose a whole leg, or even your life to cancer. Things get in their proper perspective when faced with cancer deep within our bodies. This is the same with sin in our hearts and minds. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. Sin spreads through your heart and body like a cancer making your life a living hell. Destroying the renewed spirit in you that Christ died to give you. Little by little as you allow sin's cancer to spread, your faith in God begins to weaken. Sin and rebellion then leads you down the path of death and hades. In heaven Jesus will give us a body like his, a redeemed body. Through the power of the Gospel you will enter heaven with a new heavenly body. Jesus says, "Everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life." For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. Look! The strong man will become tinder and his work will be a spark; both will burn together, with no one to quench the flames. Cut off sin from your life even if its as small as your toe. Better to enter heaven cutting off the desires of the flesh. Then to enter into hell and judgment with misdeeds and sinful nature of the body.
