If Only. As Jesus approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If only you had known on this day what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden from your eyes. Before long your enemies will build ramparts against your walls and encircle you and close in on you from every side. They will crush you into the ground, and your children with you. Your enemies will not leave a single stone in place, because you did not recognize it when God visited you.” Oh if only we could turn back time. Back to the day we said goodbye and missed Gods holy invitation. Maybe our hearts would still be Christ's. Oh will you treasure Him like the sunset, like something more than gold! Like the dawn of the early light is the LORD knocking at the door of your heart. Let him in your heart and life before the cares of this world and enemy encompasses around tightly to take away your spirit and life. If only you fully obey the LORD your God and be careful to follow all his commands He gives. Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God. O child of faith! How often the LORD has wanted to gather you close together with his children as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let Him. If only.
