Proverbs of a 40 yr old man
The underdog matters. How the precious children of Zion, once worth their weight in gold, are now considered as pots of clay, the work of a potter’s hands! God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden. For we are His workmanship, His own master work, created in Christ Jesus ready to be used for good works, which God prepared for us beforehand, so that we would walk in them. Living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us. Amen. The priceless treasure of knowing God's glory through faith in Christ is kept in the fragile containers of human beings. Yes, we now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. Though we are pressed on every side by troubles we are not crushed. Though we are perplexed we are not driven to despair. And though we are hunted down by evil principalities and spiritual authorities, we are never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies. For we who are alive are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that his life may also be revealed in our mortal body. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. Had had chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise. Turning sinners into saints and slaves into sons. The creation waits in eager expectation for the revelation of the sons of God! The underdog matters. Jesus has redeemed the human race by his blood and sacrifice. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.
